At Epoch, we're big believers in eating well first and foremost, but giving your body additional support when required. The challenge today is that the nutrient levels of many staple vegetables have declined because of soil depletion, obviously this is dependent on where they were grown (Local NZ vs Imported). The Journal of the American College of Nutrition highlighted that between 1950 and 1999 for 43 different vegetables and fruits, had reliable declines in the amount of protein, calcium, iron and vitamin C etc.
